Though the treatments were too harsh for his body and he passed, Kurious was cancer-free at the time. People forget what these little ones have to endure and how hard it is for their family. I met Kurious' mom the moment they arrived at the hospital for the first time. We connected instantly and I did a random, kind act for her. As we spent more time together, we grew even closer. I decided to gather a group of friends and family and we circled around his bedside to pray over him. I want Superman's legacy to live on through our charity. My family will never forget little Superman. Kurious, you will always be loved, cherished, and missed. Until we see you again one day, we will strive to serve others here. As your mom always encouraged me, I will continue to encourage others through her words, "Gloves Up!"
Dakota is one of the most recent children we've helped. His sister was just 6 days old when he was diagnosed with a rare cancer. Dakota just celebrated his 3rd birthday. He is handling the chemo like a true hero. We continue to pray for Dakota and his family because his battle is a long one. What a precious family we have gotten to know through this ministry! We are right here helping him fight the fight. Dakota, you may be small, but you are a warrior! #DakotaStrong
Sam was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in August 2019 at 9 years old. He became a recipient of gift cards, snacks, favorite candies, games. toys, pens, and so many other items. A local church put an event together and made so many items for Sam and his family. He was excited to be able to open so many fun items from his community. Sam, we are proud of how far you've come in your journey. Keep going strong! #TeamSam #SamStrong #WeFight #WeOvercome #WeBelieve #28 #Sam'sFight
Sam and his family have been on the receiving end of our generosity! We took toys, gift cards, snacks, toboggans and gloves to Sam during his first visit to the hospital. He is now cancer-free and doing well. We are excited about how far Sam has come after a lengthy treatment protocol and an intense surgery. His strength is something many of us can only dream of having. We are grateful for your endurance, Sam! (Sam on left, Grayson on right)
Breezy was diagnosed with cancer in January 2020. I was able to get a church group to begin bringing items quickly. I witnessed so much strength in Breezy. Her fierce spirit and determination from the Lord carried her through. She has done amazing through her treatments and has been an example to us all. She will be heading to Liberty University soon and is doing very well. She is a beautiful girl, inside and out! We are so proud of you, Breezy! #BeatItBreezy #BreezyBeatIt #4BB #BreyaStrong Jeremiah 29:11
Although Grayson and Bryson were treated at different hospitals, you still become a part of a community that you never knew existed. Heather, Bryson's mom, and I have celebrated milestones with our boys and as we saw each other's progress through social media, we have prayed over one another and cried when other children did not make it. You just become a close family through this. Bryson, you are amazing and watching you progress in baseball is so fun for us to see. You have fought quite a battle and we are happy to see you striving for good things in life.
Zeke is the first child that we helped that had been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. With the family learning a new lifestyle of counting carbs and monitoring insulin levels, the community rallied together to provide food, gift cards, diapers, wipes, toys, and other necessities to ease the financial burden of a harsh disease for a 15 month old to endure. We were excited to branch out from cancer to be able to help this sweet family. If we aren't being stretched into new territory, then we aren't growing and reaching our fullest potential. We are extremely grateful for this family to trust us as we explored this new adventure. It will open doors for new families experiencing similar situations. We are enjoying seeing Zeke's family tackle their circumstances with endless grace. Zeke's insulin is averaging lower in a few short months and he is doing well overall. We are glad to have him as one of our little heroes. #EzekielJonathan #GodWillStrengthen #YahwehHasGiven #BeStrongandCourageous
A few months into treatment, Amy Craig and Heroes of Hope delivered a basket full of gifts, goodies, and gift cards (food and gas) for Breya. It was so thoughtful and timely and appreciated! It's the prayers, support, hope, and encouragement that make all the difference for families going through cancer battles! -Laura
We are so grateful for the donations that Amy Craig and her friends brought us. Dakota was so excited for everything, especially the snacks and toys. Seeing his face light up made our day a whole lot better. It has really blessed us and I hope to be able to help others like they have helped us. -Elizabeth
Thank you for taking on such a big project and one that is needed. -Beverly
What you're doing is necessary. God will help you in your calling for these families. -Vanessa
